Welcome to the M. H. Detrick Company Asbestos Trust Main Page.  The purpose of our site is threefold:

1. To provide information on the Trust's mission concerning asbestos personal injury claims and asbestos property damage claims. The basis of these claims must result from exposure to asbestos containing material or products ("ACM").

2. To provide information to assist our claimants and other interested parties to understand who we are and how we resolve claims.

3. To provide the tools and resources to file claims.

To assist you in the steps necessary to file asbestos personal injury claims, we are providing two separate instruction trails. One for Individuals filing a claim, and the other for Law Firms filing group claims.

** ASBESTOS PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS **
** CLAIMS FILING & PAYMENT **

• Claims Filing Open Period
    ** Begins on February 25, 2007 @ 12:00am EST
    ** End on April 26, 2007 @ 12:00AM EST

• All claims received on a particular day will be processed in random order.

• There will be separate processing and payment procedures for the "Individual Claims" class and "Group Claims" class.

• Each payment class will receive a prorated total payment amount which will be based on the total number of claims received in the two classes: provided,  however if the number of Individual claims is minimal the Trust reserves the right to pay all such claims without proration.
         For Example:
    Individual Claims        60,000 Claims   (60% Total)
    Group Claims            40,000 Claims   (40% Total)
               Total Claims  100,000 Claims (100% Total) 
  

• Claims payment will be made to the extent funds are available for payment and will be paid at:
      100% payment value for a Web processed claim
        80% payment value for a Telephone processed claim

• The Trustee expects not all claims will be paid in the open period cycle due to an anticipated large claims response. Claimants may check the Web Site for status of their claims. Individuals providing E-Mail address's will be notified if their claim will be paid in this claim period. Law Firms submitting Group Claims will be notified by E-Mail if their claimants will be paid and the date of the settlement checks.

• Approved claims not paid in this open period due to unavailability of funds will be retained in the Trust database and will be considered for payment in the next open period which is anticipated to be in the year 2007.

• Claims payment checks will be mailed within 120 days after the end of the claims open period.

• NOTE: Checks which are not cashed within 120 days after issuance will be voided and the Claim Payment Value will be donated by the Trust to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, Inc. for research in lung diseases including asbestos related lung disease.

       NOTICE: The Claim Filing Period Opened at 1:00am on February 25, 2007 and closed at 12:00pm April 26, 2007.

  No claim submissions will be accepted before or after the announced starting or ending date.
